Leo Louis Lazard, Jr, the son of Leo Sr. and Norma Smith. He was born November 14, 1949 in New Orleans, Louisiana. and departed this earthly life on Saturday, January 31, 2026 in Burnham, Illinois.

Leo moved to Chicago, Illinois with his father and attended Chicago Public Schools. He worked at Inland Steel and CSX for over 30 years, He retired from CSX in 2014.

Leo was an excellent bowler and bowled in several leagues in Chicago area, including a traveling league. He also loved to barbecue and hosted several cookouts annually for his friends.

Leo leaves to mourn, his wife Gwendolyn; his brothers Michael and Andre; one sister, Terri; special cousin, Vernell Thibodeaux and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 12:00 noon Monday, February 9, 2026 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
