Liddie Louise "Granny" Watkins of Rockford departed this earthly life October 1, 2021. She was born August 24, 1940 in Hickory Valley, Tn the daughter of Ike and Ruby Lee Phinnessee.  Liddie lived in Rockford since 1971 coming from Detroit, Michigan. Liddie married Luther Watkins Jr., August 1, 1956; he preceded her in death. She was employed in home health care many years. Liddie was a member of Promise of Life Ministries, serving as a Mother of the Church and former Usher. She attended schools in Tennessee.

Liddie leaves to cherish many loving memoires, three sons, Willie Watkins, Frank Watkins, Charles Ray Watkins; seven daughters, Vivian Watkins, Peggie ( Kenneth) Simmons , Ann Watkins, Patricia (Andre) Tuner, Lucinda Watkins, and Christina (Leon) Marshall; 29 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; sister, Virginia (Lee) Jones a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Bessie Watkins; her parents, one brother; three sisters and companion of many years Jerry Lee Murphy.

Services will be held 12:00a.m. Friday, October 15, 2021 at Carl E Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held  from 10:00 a.m.
