Lucius "Lou" Suggs, of Rockford departed this earthly life May 12, 2024. He was born August 15, 1949 in Sallis, MS the son of John W. and Mable Suggs. Lucius lived in Rockford since 1964 coming from Sallis. He was employed as a machine operator by Chrysler Corporation 6 years before becoming disabled. Lucius attended McAdams High School.

Lucius leaves to cherish many loving memories, two daughters, Tasha Cooper and Tina (Ben) Russey; two sons, Lucius Savadel and Lucius Suggs Jr; four sisters, Charlean McBride, Carmen (Eddie) Young, Annie (Randy) Nelson and Patricia (Paul) Meola; two brothers, J.C. (Charmayne) Suggs and Floyd Suggs; a host nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; four brothers, William Lee Suggs, Earl Suggs, John Henry Suggs and Roy Suggs; two sisters, Minnie McNeally and Imogene Williams.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024 at Carl  E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
