Marcus Andre Williams, of Rockford departed this earthly life August 2, 2024. He was born April 5, 1985 in Rockford the son of Rebecca Sanders and James Williams. Marcus was employed as a package handler by Fed-Ex 18 years.  He was a member of Gomez Chapel A.M.E. Church. Marcus graduated from Waukesha South High School in Waukesha WI, class of 2004.

Marcus leaves to cherish many loving memories, his parents, Rebecca Howard and James (LaSonya) Williams; two sisters, Marshawna ( Daniel) Page and Markesha Williams; three brothers, Erik Howard II., Elijuah Howard and James Rashad (Krystal) Williams; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends; step father, Erik Howard I; maternal grandparents, Billie Crowder and Curtis Rideout; paternal grandmother Kattie Alexander; special friend Charlene Williamson; god mother, Vanessa Dejoode. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Joshua Alexander.

Services will be held 12:00 noon Monday, August 12, 2024 at Gomez Chapel A.M.E. Church 1509 Michigan Ave. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
