Margaret Sue Lawrence, of Rockford departed this earthly life, March 19, 2024. She was born, July 11, 1946 in Greenville, MS the daughter of Alonzo Sr. and Mary Lee McDonald. Margaret lived in Rockford 13 years coming from Chicago, IL. She married Thomas Lawrence, September 22, 1971, he preceded her in death. Margaret was employed as Administrative Assistant/ Buyer by Sears Roebuck over 25 years before retiring in 1999. She was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Chicago, where she served as an usher; later relocating to Rockford and joining Providence Baptist Church, where she served on the Mothers Board, in which she served as past president. Margaret served as an Intercessor for March Forth Ministries. She graduated from Coleman High School in Greenville; and later received her Associates degree in Chicago.

Margaret leaves to cherish many loving memories, her daughter, Stephanie (Timothy) Smith and son, Kevin Lawrence; one grand daughter, Kennedi Joy Lawrence; brother, Alonzo McDonald Jr; a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, parents; sisters, Pauline Cain and Rosalind Shah.

Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Providence Baptist Church 2209 Clifton Ave. Rockford, IL. The doors will be open at 12:30 p.m.
