Mashril Ann Shumate departed this life May 16, 2022. She was born May 3, 1971 in Marianna, Arkansas to Lillie B. Shumate. She was the youngest of her mother's six children. She was born into a large and lovely family.

Mashril grew up in Chicago, Illinois  and relocated to Rockford as an adult, to be closer to her family. While in Rockford she worked as a home healthcare aid. She gained many life-long friends while in Rockford.

Mashril was a loving mother to her children. She was blessed to mother and nurture six children of her own. Her second son, Terrence and her youngest daughter, Natasha both preceded her in death.

Mashril leaves to cherish her memory her four children Terrell, Lushon, Anquenette, Nattanld; her three grandchildren Terrence, Torrence, and Tyrrence; her mother, Lillie B. Shumate; her five siblings, Calvin, Richard, Brenda, Ricky and Michael; her maternal grandmother Estella Hines; And a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the Ponds Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at 8:00 am until the time of the services.
