Marty Ray Rhodes, of Rockford departed this earthly life April 19, 2026. He was born May 5, 1958 in Glasgow, Kentucky the son of Cledis Mae Reed. Marty lived in Rockford 43 years coming from Sycamore, IL. He married the former Terri Overton, October 12, 1985. Marty was employed as a supervisor by Bergstrom Manufacturing and Life Scape.  He graduated from Sycamore High School.

Marty leaves to cherish many loving memories, his wife of 41 years, Terri Rhodes; daughter, Lea (Devantae Sherman) Rhodes; one granddaughter, Brooklyn Sherman; brothers in law, Richard (Evone) Overton and Ben Lilly; sisters in law, Dawn (Stefan) Miller, Debra Howard and Tammy (Percie III.) Ellis ; special cousins, Bo Reed and Tammy Reed ; a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Cledis Mae Reed;  maternal grandfather, who raised him Cleotis Reed; aunts Carolyn Smiley and Edith Reed and uncle Carl Reed who were raised like his brother and sisters.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m.  Monday, April 27, 2026 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. Visitation 9:00 a.m. until the time of service
