Mary D. Boyd of Rockford departed this earthly life December 2, 2025. She was born October 28, 1957 in Rockford, IL the daughter of Willie and Mary Robinson. Mary married Charles Boyd June 20, 2008. She was employed as a domestic engineer by Red Roof Inn in Rockford and Super 8 in Beloit, WI.   Mary attended Jefferson High School, where she was the 1st African American Cheerleader, later to receive her G.E.D.

Mary leaves to cherish many loving memories, her husband Charles Boyd; three brothers, Sampson (Sharon) Robinson, Charles Robinson and Gabriel "Doc" Robinson; two sisters Rev. Jerline (Robert) Cunningham and Kimberly (Clayborn) Smith; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends including special niece, Toi (Kelvin) Martin and best friend Gloria Roby. She was predeceased by her parents; daughter, Natosha Roby; three brothers, Willie, Jack and Larry Robinson; and two sisters Sarah McDaniel and Clara Perteete.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2025 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Visitation 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
