Mary Yolanda Brooks-Anderson, of Rockford departed this earthly life July 30, 2023. She was born May 16, 1968 in Rockford the daughter of Elmer and Donna Brooks. She was employed as a Quality Coordinator by Anderson Packaging over 10 years. Mary was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in Air Traffic Controlling.  She was a member of Hope Fellowship. She graduated from East High School class of 1986, later receiving her Associates Degree from Rock Valley College and she was attending Northern Illinois University.

Mary leaves to cherish many loving memories, two sons, Shaquille Anderson and Denzel Anderson; five grandchildren; Leilanee, Mansa, Ameera, Tamira and Romance; mother, Donna Thomas; two sisters, Valerie Brooks and Toni Thomas; two brothers Charles (Teresa Foreman) Brooks and Orlando Horton; step father, James Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Elmer Brooks.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday August 11, 2023 at Hope Fellowship 1135 E. State Street. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held Monday, August 14, 2023 in Abraham National Cemetery.
