Mary Lillian Shivers-Cole of Rockford departed this earthly life January 10, 2022. She was born April 19, 1946 in Vicksburg, MS the daughter of Johnny and Willa Mae Shivers. Mary lived in Rockford over 20 years coming from Mississippi. She attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.  Mary graduated from St. Mary High School.

Mary leaves to cherish many loving memories, three daughters, Chandra Cole, Shewandra Cole and Wilhemena Young; son, Anthony Cole; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Francine) Shivers and George Shivers; three sisters, Dorothy Jackson, Easter Holloway and Millie (Robert) Baymon; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Johnny Shivers, Andrew Brown and Samuel Shivers; and sister, Victoria Shivers.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
