Mattie Lee Robinson of Rockford departed this earthly life May 31, 2023. She was born December 6, 1949 in Epps, Louisiana the daughter of Otis Sr. and Roberta Day. Mattie lived in Rockford since 1969 coming from Epps. She married James Edward Robinson, August 26, 1969, he preceded her in death. Mattie was employed as a custodian by Ingersoll Milling before becoming ill. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, serving in the Choir, Sunday School Teacher, Mission serving as the president, Usher Board and Mother of the church. Mattie served as a volunteer at Carpenters Place. She attended school in  Epps.

Mattie leaves to cherish many loving memories, son, Willie Robinson; three daughters, Tina Robinson, Patisha (Charles) Edwards-Robinson and Felisa (Paul) Thompson; 16 grandchildren;25 great grandchildren; four brothers, Fred Day, Donald (Donna) Day, and Willie (Vicki) Day and Otis Jr. (Leola) Day; four sisters, Janie Mackey, Brenda (Paul) Douglas, Merllean Thompson and Christina (Sam) Harris;  a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, husband; grandson, Terance Robinson; brothers, Brown Day, Earl Day and Eddie Coleman; sisters, Kathlean Thomas, and Billie Ruth Henderson;  special family friend, Ernest Ponds. Special thanks to Amberwood Nursing Home and staff; Brandon Enochs, Sadat Hardnett, Nequai Day, and Donise Thomas for their love and support during her illness.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 12, 2023 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
