Melinda Dichelle Morris of Rockford, IL departed this earthly life February 2, 2026. She was born October 10, 1973 in Chidester, Arkansas the daughter Roosevelt Box and Maggie Morris. Melinda lived in  Rockford many years coming from Chidester. She was employed as a caretaker by the Veterans Association. Melinda was a member of the Eastern Star Pride of Harmony #144. She graduated from Chidester High School class of 1992 and received her Associates Degree from Rockford Business College.

Melinda leaves to cherish many loving memories, three daughters, Chealsey Morris, Cepetria Morris and Alexandria Ferguson; son, Cepeda Munoz; 16 grandchildren; two brothers, Reggie (Lisa) Morris and Randy Box; and three sisters; a host of other relatives and friends including special cousins who she loved like sisters, Melanie Morris and Tracy Box-Netters. She was predeceased by her mother, Maggie Morris.

Services will be held 12:00 noon Monday, February 16, 2026 at Macedonia Baptist Church 1720 Morgan Street. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
