Michael Jerome Leach of Rockford departed this earthly life November 22, 2023. He was born December 22, 1958 in Rockford the son of Hattie Mae Tate and Robert Brown. Michael was employed as a security guard by per Mar Security. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church serving in the Kitchen Ministry, Van Ministry, Media Ministry and was a Deacon in training. Michael graduated from Auburn High School class of 1977 and attended Rock Valley College.

Michael leaves to cherish many loving memories; two sons, Tremayne Didier and Diamonte Leach; daughter Angel Leach; grand daughter, Kamilah Didier; companion of many years, Vadelia Brown and her daughter, Dalia Allen; three brothers, Dave Baker, F.S. Tate and Percy Baker; two sisters, Denise Ward and Carolyn Koonce; best friend, Ernest Jefferson; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Cherry Baker and brother Jimmy Baker.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2023 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Visitation will be held 12:00 noon until the time of service.
