Michael Anthony "Big Top" Perkins, of Rockford departed this earthly life September 10, 2022.  He was born July 30, 1960 in Duncan, Mississippi the son of Harry Sr. and Alice Perkins. Michael lived in Rockford 23 years, coming from Elgin, IL. He was employed as a deliverer by E.B. Brown Distributors. Michael was a member of Christian Love Baptist Church in Chicago, IL.  He attended King High School.

Michael leaves to cherish many loving memories, wife, Theresa LeFlore-Perkins; two sons, Teron LeFlore and Michael Perkins-LeFlore and daughter, Kerissa (Benjamin) Coulter; six grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest Perkins, and Duane (Mary) Perkins; three sisters, Alice Perkins-Cotton, Caroline (Lorenzo) Williams, Beatrice Perkins; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including special cousin/sister, Trinette Hicks. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Harry Perkin Jr.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
