Milton Burt Burns, of Rockford, departed this earthly life December 29, 2024. He was born February 26, 1946 in Opelika, Alabama the son of  James and Sallie Burt. Milton lived in Rockford 10 years coming from Elgin, IL. He married the former Willie Evans, June 30, 2021 in Rockford, IL. Milton was a self-employed painter by R and E Decorating with his brothers. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Milton was a member of Progressive Baptist Church, Elgin, IL; serving in the choir. He attended Darden High School in Opelika.

Milton leaves to cherish many loving memories, his wife Willie Stean Burt Burns; five brothers, James (Janet) Burt,  Raymond Burt, Earl (Gayle) Burt, Jimmy (Cassandra) Burt and John (Linda) Burt; five sisters,  Carol Spates, Brenda Barnes, Charlotte Springer, Mary (Billy) Harris and Rolonda (Tracy) Wayne; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; James Burt and Sallie Burns and his stepfather, Allie Burns; and  sister, Miria Ann Barnett and brother, Peter Burns.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
