Monica E. Curry, 38, of Rockford IL departed this life January 18, 2025. She was born July 3, 1986 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of the late Tony R. Franklin and Patricia R. Curry.  She attended Rockford Public Schools, later receiving her G.E.D. in 2011.  She was employed as a home health caregiver by DORS. Monica accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Faith Temple Church.

Monica leaves to cherish many loving memories, her mother, Patricia (Nathaniel) Foreman.  Two brothers, Christian (Amber) Kidd and Ryan Reynolds; two sisters, Shaia Franklin and Paula Curry.  Seven nieces: Sequoia Taylor, Amaya Gabrielle, Damionna Curry, Maurinique Curry, J'Ziyah Curry, and Mi'Aire Rodriguez. Nephew: Michael Rodriguez; and great-nephew, Giovonni Hodges.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tony R. Franklyn, his maternal grandparents, Charlie Sr. and Ora Mae Tucker and paternal grandparents Enos Franklin Sr. and Bessie Stiff.  She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James E. Curry.

Also treasuring precious memories are her maternal grandmother, Betty Curry of Phoenix, AZ.  Paternal uncle and aunts: Torrey Franklin; Dietra Franklin-Allen, Sheila (David) Parrish and Brenda Franklin Chin.  Maternal uncles and aunts: James C. Curry (Shirley) of Clayton, NC; Edna K. Kinser (Steven); Gregory A. Curry (Keanna) and John Holmes (Tasha), all of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her maternal uncles, Paul E. Curry (Debra) and Apostle Rodney J. Curry I (Pastor Twyla L. Curry).  Monica will be remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
