Morris Maurice Royal, Sr., age 78 departed this earthly life on Sunday, February 16, 2025 in Eudora, AR.  Morris was born on April 24, 1946 (the same birthday as his mother) to Alfonia and Patsy Royal, Jr, in Eudora Arkansas. He graduated from Auburn High School Class of 1965. He married Gloria Scott on June 19, 1976.  To this union three children were born; Tiffiny, Drenda, and Morris "Maurice", Jr. He retired from Chrysler after working over 33 years. He was a faithful trustee and male chorus member at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Rockford until he relocated to Eudora, AR in 2003. In Eudora, he was ordained as a deacon at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Morris enjoyed playing dominoes and spades with his family especially his brother Al. If he wasn't playing dominoes or spades, you'd find him at the table enjoying a meal or reading his Bible.  After a day's work, he'd recline in his chair and watch westerns like Gunsmoke and Cheyenne.

Morris leaves to cherish his memories, wife of 48 years- Gloria Royal, daughters- Tiffiny Whitmore and Drenda Royal and son- Morris Royal, Jr. Grandchildren; Antonia Royal- Whitmore, Darby Whitmore and Royal Whitmore. His siblings, Alfonia Royal III, Willie Grayned, Shirley Grayned, Martin (Sheron) Geeters, Janet Neal, Orah Lee Royal, Paula Sue Washington and Virdia W. Rawls, and one Aunt Martharein Williams.  Special cousin Andrew (Dale) Taylor, special friends Dan Simmons and Eddie Jarrett, Godsons Reggie (Marvel) Taylor and Darnel (Maya) Royal along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

Morris Royal is predeceased by his parents, Alfonia Royal, Jr., Patsy Grayned, and stepmother Emma Royal. Also, his maternal grandparents, Jiles and Jesse Brooks and paternal grandparents, Alfonzo D. Royal, Sr. and Emma Lambert-Parker.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, march 1, 2025 at Macedonia Baptist Church 1720 Morgan Street. Visitation will be held 12:00 noon until the time of service.
