Nancy Ann Sykes of Rockford departed this earthly life March 16, 2026. She was born August 11, 1956 in Rockford, IL the daughter of Tommy and Eunice Gandy. She was employed as an assembler. Nancy was a member of South Side Church of God in Christ. She graduated from Auburn High School.

Nancy leaves to cherish many loving memories, her daughters, Felicia (Scottie Lewis) Reddic and LaToya (Sheffard Finklea) Sykes; both of Rockford; three grandchildren, Tyesha Lambert, KaShayla Carter and Michael Reddic II, all of Rockford; six great grandchildren; DeVon Sykes Jr. of Weaver, Alabama; JaMyah, Sykes, TreVon Sykes, Mario Manns, Ja'Mir Bates and Jayden Bates all of Rockford, IL; sister Frances (Clyde Thurmond) Gandy, three brothers, Michael Gandy of Arlington, TX; Jerry (Reba) Gandy of Kyle Tx and Willie (Doris) Gandy of Fort Worth, TX; aunts, Bobbie Nell Gray of Chicago, IL; and Lelia Mae Watson, of Houston, TX; sisters in law Annie (Lawrence) Thrower of Rockford and Bobbie Jean Craft of Houston, TX; special family friends who has been there for us, Sabrina Arnold and family.

She was predeceased by her parents, brother Joseph Craft and grandson, DeVon Sykes Sr.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2026 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnson Ave. Visitation 12:00 noon until the time of service.
