Nautica "NuNu" Horton, of Rockford departed this earthly life February 25, 2024 in Chicago. She was born July 2, 2008 in Rockford the daughter of Shakela Redd and Demarcus Horton. She attended Higher Ground Christian Center in Beloit WI.  Nautica attended Auburn High School; she was in her Sophomore year.

Nautica, leaves to cherish many fun loving memories; her parents, Shakela Redd and Demarcus (Jennifer) Horton; four sisters, Zyriah, Jazell, A'legacee and A'Dream; six brothers; Antonio, Benjamin, Jalyahus, Nakhai, A'legend and Erick also unborn brother, Eleven; maternal grand parents Valiva Thomas and Gregory Redd; paternal grandparents, Orlando Horton and Wilma Johnson; TT who loved her like a mother, Toni Thomas; great grandmother, Donna Thomas;  best friend/ aunt, Jamyiah Tobias a host of aunts, uncle, cousins other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her maternal great grandmother, Jannie Mae Winters; great great grandmother Hazel Brown; aunt, Tikarra McGee and great aunt, Mary Anderson;

Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Providence Baptist Church 2209 Clifton Ave. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston St.
