Norma Jean English of Rockford departed this earthly life November 2, 2024. She was born October 11, 1933 in Sandusky, IL the daughter of Modie Coleman. Norma lived in Rockford many years coming from Chicago. Norma was employed as a truck driver in which she became a wandering traveler. She was baptized at a early age at Mt Tabor Baptist Church and attended Pilgrim Baptist Church and True Vine Baptist Church. Norma graduated from Love Joy High School in Mounds, IL.

Norma leaves to cherish many memories, cousins Marva Geter and Harland Booth; special friends, Greta Foster, Catherine Jackson, Renade Cossey, Carolyn Chavis-Barry and Betty Collins.

She was predeceased by her mother; sister, Rosa Lee Coleman and several aunts, uncles and cousins who she was raised with.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2024 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
