Nylene Karen Hilton, of Rockford departed this earthly life November 20, 2021. She was born September 9, 1948 in Rockford the daughter of Lloyd and Sarah Hilton, being adopted and raised by maternal grandparents, Mose and Ammanda Pearson. Nylene lived most of her life in Rockford spending time in New Jersey and Alabama while in the Military Service and three years in Texas with her son.  She was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  Nylene was a member of West Side Church of God in Christ. She graduated from West High School and attended Rock Valley College.

Nylene leaves to cherish many loving memories, her son Vernon (April ) Hilton; three grandchildren Nigel, Isiah and Ariel Hilton;  two sisters, Leslie Sims and Arlene Moore; brothers, Lloyd, Michael, Darryl, and Van Edward Hilton; special niece, Tracey Sims; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Lloyd and Sarah; and grandparents who raised her Mose and Ammanda Pearson; brothers, Larry and Raymond Hilton; sisters, Joann Logan and Barbara Brownlee .

Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
