Phillip Hopson

Phillip Stein Hopson, of Denver Colorado departed this earthly life October 21, 2026. He was born on March 7, 1957, in Gary, Indiana, the son of Barbara Hopson and Rudolph Taylor. Phillip lived in Denver Colorado since 1997 after leaving Milwaukee, WI. He married Cathryn Hayes, July 11, 1999, in Denver. Phillip was the owner and operator of Stein Home Improvement over 20 years before retiring. He was a member of Simchat Torah Beit Midrash serving in the Men’s meeting and attended Passover Seders. Phillip graduated from Emerson High School in Gary Indiana. Phillip leaves to cherish many loving memories, his wife, Cathryn; son, Phillip (Jasmine) Horton; three daughters, Phylicia Satchell, Brittany (Michael) Adom and La’Keeda (Jose) Silvestre; stepson, Tyrice (Natalie) Hayes; twelve grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two brothers, Broderick Smith and Patrick (Tara) Hopson; three sisters, Paula Taylor, Paulette (Linnis) Kincaide; and Brittany Taylor-Lewis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Pamela Taylor. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday November 7, 2026 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
