Robert Bernard "Base" Anderson of Rockford departed this earthly life September 27, 2021. He was born February 14, 1969 in Chicago, IL the son of Linda and Robert Phillips. Robert lived in Rockford since 1987 coming from Chicago. He married the former Tashe Ware July 25, 2005 in Rockford. Robert was employed by Gunite Foundry. He graduated from Harper High School in Chicago and received his Associates degree from Malcom X College.

Robert leaves to cherish many loving memories, his wife Tashe; Alton and Cameron, Shawn White, Demonique Fulton, Schamar Anderson and DeMario Ware; daughters, Chardenay Brown, Laterria Anderson, Khadijah Anderson, Currisha Rice, Sherlinda Anderson-McKenney, Taniya (Cristian) Castillo, Shaquillah Anderson, Terri ( Randy) Bennett, Tahja Brown and Porschay (Dwayne) Marks-Glass; parents, Linda Phillips and Robert Phillips; step father, Bruce Darnell:  sisters, Ruby (Charles) Davis and Jacqueline Phillips; brother, Vincent Phillips; a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter, Chiyara Nelson; sister, Pat Phillips.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Doors will be open from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
