Robert Earl Hooks of Rockford departed this earthly life, August 21, 2022. He was born September 28, 1966 in Little Rock, Arkansas the son of Robert J. and Nellie Mae Hooks. Robert lived in Rockford 21 years coming from Elgin, IL. Robert married Peggy Williams twice, but as companions 36 years. He was employed as a fork lift operator by Tyson's Foods. Robert was a member of Riverside Church of God in Christ where he served in the choir. He attended Elgin High School later to receive his G.E.D. from Waubonsee Community College.

Robert leaves to cherish many loving memories, companion of 36 years, Peggy Bradley; three daughters, Kattie (Corey) Knuckles, Kiara (Terrance) Pinkey and Kalee Williams; three sons, Robert Williams, Travon and Courtney Hooks; 15 grandchildren; mother, Nellie Mae Hooks; sister, Velma Hooks; two brothers, Joe and Steve Hooks; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father; Robert J. Hooks; and grandson, Corey J. Knuckles.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Washington Park Christian Church 801 Concord Ave.  Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
