R obert Lee "Bob" Jones, of Rockford departed this earthly life January 31, 2022. He was born December 6, 1936 in Clarksdale, Mississippi the son of Thomas Lee and Ruby Jones. Robert lived in Rockford since 1964 coming from Detroit, MI. He was employed as an inspector by Chrysler Corporation 33 years before retiring.  Robert enjoyed traveling, gambling, all sports, playing tennis, basketball, and running track, but most of all Robert was a former member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from West Philadelphia High School.

R obert leaves to cherish many loving memories, his two daughters, Sharon Jefferson and Michele Jones and son Robert Jones Jr.; step daughter, Carmeil Marshall; seven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; special friend of 18 years Edna Daniels; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends; including special family and friends, Diane Glover, Sonny Marshall and Geraldine Hutchinson. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas Lee Jones Sr. and Ruby Stephens; two sisters, Tommie Lee Brown and Joyce Lee Hutchinson; and uncle, L.A. Dobbs.

Services will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
