Roger "Rod" Collier, of Rockford departed this earthly life August 17, 2021. He was born November 11, 1969 in Ellaville, Georgia the son of Henry and Lacy Collier. Roger lived in Rockford since 1972 coming from Georgia.  He was self employed as a general contractor.  Roger was a member of the Welcome Star Lodge #36 PHA F& AM. Roger graduated from Auburn High School class of 1987, later attending ITT Technical Institute, Cincinnati Ohio and Southern University and A & M College, Baton Rogue, Louisiana.

Roger leaves to cherish many loving memoires, his three brothers, Robert (Cheryl) Collier, Bruce (Rose) Collier and Kelvin (Evelyn) Collier; three sisters, Linda Collier, Elaine (Dale) Theobald and Paula (James) Hallden-Collier; special friend, Mike Robinson, Leotis Davenport and Shawn Williams; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, twin sister, Rose Collier and brothers Henry, Curtis, Stanley and Ray Collier and nephews Travis Collier and Dwayne Buchanan Jr.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church 2919 19th Street. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
