Roy "Oree" Joe, Sr. of Rockford departed this earthly life September 25, 2022. He was born April 13, 1938 in Rosston, Arkansas the son of Nelson and Clara Joe. Roy lived in Rockford many years  coming from Arkansas. He married the former Ruby Smith, she preceded him in death. Roy was employed as a machine operator by Rockford Powertrain over 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Miles Memorial C.M.E. Church serving as a trustee and in the male chorus.

Roy graduated from Oak Grove High School in Rosston.

Roy leaves to cherish many loving memories, son, Roy D. Joe Jr.; two daughters, Robin Joe and Tina (Timothy) Perteete; 4 grandchildren, DeShara Suggs-Joe, Demarco Joe-Williams, Much'layla (Terrel) Alexander and Devontae Joe-Perteete; 3 great grandchildren; special uncle Jesse Gulley; special friends Gwen Jackson; a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife; and parents.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2022 at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church 2919 19th . Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
