Ruth B. Spence, 72, of Rockford departed this earthly life June 16, 2023. She was born October 16, 1950 in Belzoni, Mississippi the daughter of Minnie Myles. Ruth married James Spence, Sr; December 8, 1979, he preceded her in death.  She was employed as an assembler by Chrysler Corporation many years before retiring. Ruth was a veteran of the US Army. She was a member of Living Faith Tabernacle serving as an Usher, Sunday School Teacher and helped keep the church clean. She graduated from Delta Center High School class of 1970.

Ruth leaves to cherish many loving memories, her sons, James and Jason Spence; step children; three uncles; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Minnie White; husband, James Spence Sr.; and son Johnathan Spence.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Living Faith Tabernacle 530 8th Street. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc.
