Rutha Mae Wilson of Rockford departed this earthly life August 17, 2021. She was born August 9, 1937 in Indianola, MS the daughter Alex and Mary Lee Thompson. Rutha lived in Rockford since the early 1960's coming from Mississippi. She married John Wilson, he preceded her in death. Rutha was a former member of True Vine Missionary Baptist, where she served on the Mothers Board. She graduated from Gentry High School in Indianola.

Rutha leaves to cherish many loving memories, her sisters, Mandy Barksdale and Amatha; brother, Enoc Franklina host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, brothers, J.C. and Oneal Thompson and nephew Elbert Goulding.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2021 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 20 0 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
