Shantae J. "Tae" Simmons, of Rockford departed this earthly life March 29, 2022 in Byron, IL. She was born December 31, 1972 in Rockford, IL; the daughter of Anna M. Simmons and Bradley Baker. Shantae was employed as a director by Silverado in Plano, Texas over five years before becoming ill.  She graduated from Auburn High School, later receiving her Associates degree from White Water College.

Shantae leaves to cherish many loving memories, her husband, Wallace Hartfield; mother, Anna M. (Willie) Burnett; two sisters, Calanda Simmons and Tenisha Nolan; two brothers, Lanard and Edward Nolan; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including best friend, Felicia Wainwright. She was predeceased by her father; son, Ashante Simmons; and brother, Antwan Simmons.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2022 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
