Susie Ella Hollingsworth of Rockford departed this earthly life February 16, 2025. She was born December 31, 1924 in Leighton, Alabama the daughter of Alex and Rachel Brown. Susie lived in Rockford since 1966 coming from Waukegan, IL. She married Joseph Hollingsworth, January  , 1947; he preceded her in death. Susie was employed at Skokie Valley Laundry, later becoming a seamstress at Jemco 10 years before retiring. She was a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Susie graduated from Leighton Training

School in Alabama.

Susie leaves to cherish many loving memories, her daughter, Harriet (Dock) Ward; three grandchildren, Brandon, Brett and Kelli Ward; five great grandchildren, Jada, Maddison, Makayla, Caliah and Kingston; one great great grandson, Zy'aire; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband; parents; four brothers and five sisters.

Services will be held 11:00a.m Thursday, February 27, 2025 at  Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home inc 200 N. Johnston Ave.  Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
