Teresa E. Woods of Rockford departed this earthly life November 27, 2024. She was born October 6, 1962 in Rockford the daughter of Essex and Velvet Woods. Teresa was employed as a case manager by The State of Illinois, Department of Children and Family Service three years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Teresa graduated from Auburn High School class of 1980, received her Bachelors degree from Judson College, and her Masters Degree in counseling from National Louis University.

Teresa leaves to cherish many loving memories, foster son, Sanaign "Sonny" Tanner; two sisters, Dessie Elmore and Emma Thompson; four brothers, Charles (Alice Faye) Woods, Chester (Martha) Woods, Larry (Serrita) Woods and Terrence (Dorinda) Woods; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends including special nephew/brother, Alvin (Veronica) Woods; and sister in law, Maggie Woods. She was predeceased by her parents; sister Denise Woods; four brothers, Lee Woods, Leon Woods, Masifield and Bruce Woods. Special thanks to Swedish American Hospital 10th floor staff and nurses. Special thanks to Dessie Elmore and Emma Thompson and her family for the special care given to Teresa during her illness.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church 724 Harrison Ave. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N.  Johnston Ave.
