Vicki Lynn Ellis, 59, of Rockford, IL, entered eternal life on Monday, January 10, 2022.  She was born in Rockford, IL on January 5, 1963 to Lonnie and Roberta Drayton. She graduated from Auburn High School.   Vicki accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. While serving in various ministries, singing was her ultimate passion. The anointing of her voice brought joy to everyone and moved many to tears. She, was indeed, a POWERHOUSE.  Vicki was called to the ministry and preached her first sermon at Providence Baptist Church under Bishop John Farris Senter. Vicki will be greatly missed by all she touched and is now at rest.

Vicki is survived by her husband of 32 years, Booker T Ellis Jr., son, DeShawn (Miranda) Richardson; daughter, DeShayla Richardson; grandchildren, Cameron and Amiyah Richardson; mother, Roberta M. Drayton; four brothers, Lonnie Jr., Dwight, Leon (Ruby), and Robert (Michelle) Drayton; sister, Arnez Glover; mother in law, Alice Mae Ellis; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Drayton; sister, Barbara Deniece Drayton; niece, Kimberly Drayton; nephew, Tranier Drayton; father-in-law, Booker T Ellis Sr.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Providence Baptist Church, 2209 Clifton Avenue.  Visitation will be held 12:00pm until time of service. Arrangements were completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
