Vince Patterson, 66, passed away on October 17, 2026. He was a beloved family member, friend, and respected member of the local community.

Born on September 28, 1960, Vince attended Rockford Auburn High School. He built lasting connections through his passion for fitness, bodybuilding, and helping others.

An excellent fitness trainer, Vince was a familiar and valued presence at local training facilities, including Asylum Gym, where he worked for many years. He generously shared his love for bodybuilding and encouraged fellow lifters at every stage of their fitness journeys. His kindness, knowledge, and support left a lasting impression on those who trained alongside him. Vince also worked in security at a local nightclub, further connecting him with people throughout the community.

Outside the gym, Vince was an Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He will be remembered as a good soul and a wonderful friend whose presence meant so much to those who knew him.

Vince was preceded in death by his parents, George and Hallie Patterson, as well as George Patterson Jr., Rosemary Friar, Alice Patterson, Overtis Patterson, Thaddeus Patterson, and Otto Von Patterson.

He leaves to cherish his memory Melissa Patterson of Chicago, Illinois; Yolanda Sanders of Michigan; and his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Vince will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he helped make stronger. His memory will live on through the lives he touched and the encouragement he so freely gave.
