Virginia Hunt, departed this earthly life November 23, 2023. She  was born in Whiteville, TN the daughter of Henry and Daisy Neely.  She married the love of her life Edward Hunt Jr. on April 29, 1962 and to this union she had five wonderful children.  Virginia graduated from Allen White High School. She moved to Rockford, IL where she was employed at Chrysler for many years before retiring.  On her spare time she loved to play bingo, shop, and spend time with her family.  She was an outspoken and loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Virginia leaves to cherish her memory four sons, James Hunt, Timmy Hunt, Rodney Hunt, and special son Timothy Hunt of Rockford, IL; two daughters, Geniese (Jim) Hunt-Johnson and Tangela Hunt;  three brothers, Reverend Dr. Earlie (Willie Mae) Neely, Len (Patricia) Neely of Rockford, IL and Travis (Patricia) Neely of Indianapolis, IN;  five sisters,  Anna Neely and Ethel Morrow of Rockford, IL;  Annette Neely of Bolivar, TN, Florence (Gerald) Johnson and Dianne (Weldon) Phelps of Jackson, TN; 32 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hunt Jr; father Henry Neely Jr. and mother Daisy Bell Crowder Neely; four sisters, Ocie Taylor, Ressie Taylor, Delois Jones and Cornelia Neely; and brother William Neely and one granddaughter Brittany Hunt; and 3 nephews.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2023 at St. Luke M.B. Church 2919 19th St. Visitation 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
