Wendell Wilkie Harris, of Rockford departed this earthly life August 31, 2025. He was born July 15, 1940 in Camden, Arkansas the son of Floyd and Odell Harris. Wendell lived in Rockford over 30 years coming from California. He married the former Judy Jackson, September 9, 2008. Wendell was employed by Woodward Governor 12 years, and employed by United Parcel Service over 10 years before retiring. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He attended Union Grove High School in Camden.

Wendell leaves  to cherish many loving memories, his wife Judy; two sons, Howard and Darryl Harris; daughter, Katashia Harris; several grandchildren; a host cousins other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Lisa Harris; parents Floyd Harris and Odell Purifoy; brother, Johnny B. Avery and sister Cleaster Harris.

Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m.. Monday, September 8, 2025 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
