Wilda Mae "Linda" Hughes, of Rockford departed this earthly life December 10, 2024. She was born February 3, 1941 in Iota, Louisiana the daughter of Houston Landry and Felicia Semien.  Wilda lived in Rockford since 1958 coming from Iota. She was employed as a machine operator by Woodward Governor 17 years before retiring, later to assists in private housekeeping for the elderly. Wilda was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

She attended schools in Louisiana, later to receive her G.E.D. and received training at O.I.C.

Wilda leaves to cherish many loving memories,  her son, Juan Hughes; four daughters, Annette Hughes, Tamara (Levon) Todd, Sheila (Jamain McFadden) Hughes, and Tameria Hughes; bonus children, Daphane Davis and Corey Cooks; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren;  two brothers and two sisters; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; and serval siblings.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December  27, 2024 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. Visitation 12:00 noon until the time of service.
