William Lawrence Allen Jr., of Rockford departed this earthly life, October 30, 2022. He was born May 22, 1945 in Rockford the son of William Jr. and Roberta Allen being raised by his step father, Alfred Robinson . William married the former Marjorie Wooden, February 14, 1984. He was employed as a bus driver and custodial engineer by the Rockford Board of Education over 20 years before retiring. William was a member of Washington Park Christian Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of VFW Rockford Post 5149, where he formerly served as commander. William graduated from Auburn High School.

William leaves to cherish many loving memories, his wife Marjorie; four step daughters, Angelia Boose, Vinell Wooden, Judith Moore and Margaret Moore; step son, Johnathan (Debretta) Moore; 15 grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; four sisters, Geraldine (Larry) Phillips, Olivia (Daniel) Marshall, Rosiland (Lester) Scott and Mary (Robert) Bulger; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Roberta and Alfred Robinson and William Allen Sr.

Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
