William Joseph "Uncle Billy" Goodin Jr., of Rockford departed this earthly life March 26, 2025. He was born October 7, 1953 in Chicago, IL the son of  William J. Sr. and Ruth Goodin. Wiliam lived in Rockford 45 years coming from Chicago. He married the former Lillian Willis January 23, 1986. William was a self employed mechanic.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. William attended Starlight Baptist Church.  He graduated from Hyde Park High School and attended Truman College.

William leaves to cherish many loving memories, his wife; Lillian; son, Michael Stamps; two grandchildren; Dajon Hudson and Amina Raines; four great grandchildren; Dajon Jr., Nova, Nylah and Domani; sister,  Illma Best a host of other relatives and friends including his fur babies, Mudda, Ali and Jay. He was predeceased by his parents; s Carmelethia Smith, Beverly Riley and Denise Waddy and brother,  Don Waddy.

Services will be held 12:00 noon Friday, April 4, 2025 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Avenue. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
