Willie James Crawford departed  this earthly life February 5, 2023. He was born February 27, 1946 in Durant, MS the son of Willie Crawford Sr and Annie Crawford. Willie lived in Rockford since 1959 coming from Durant. He was employed by Chrysler Corporation over 30 years before retiring. Willie was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, serving as a trustee and in the choir.  He attended Auburn High School

Willie leaves to cherish many loving memories, daughter Anita Crawford; five sons, David (Jeri) Kyles, Willie (Jesette) Crawford Jr., Julius Crawford, Christopher Dixon and James Dixon; a host of grandchildren; two brothers, Benny (Linda) Crawford Sr., and Travis Williams; a host of other relatives and friends including special aunt/ momma, Ella Redmond; his care takers, special .cousin, Marsha Redmond, Delois Jones and Cynthia Teal. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lacreshia Dixon , parents Willie and Annie; sister, Betty Williams; brother Hurtis Williams; and Grandparents who raised him, William and Lizzie Redmond. Services will be held 12:00 noon Monday, February 13, 2023 at Ephesians Missionary Baptist Church 1112 Taylor St. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
