Willie Mae McCullum of Rockford departed this earthly life November 10, 2023. She was born May 19, 1931 in Blytheville, Arkansas the daughter of Fred and Sarah Shannon. Willie Mae lived in Rockford many years coming from Chicago. She married Earl McCullum Sr. February 27, 1954, he preceded her in death. Willie Mae was employed as a Senior Clerk by the City of Chicago, 20 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Andrews Temple, where she served in the choir. Willie Mae graduated from Hayti High School in Missouri.

Willie Mae leaves to cherish many loving memories, two daughters, Joyce McCullum-Gye and June McCullum; 16 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband; and two sons, George Gore and Earl McCullum Jr.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service
