Wilma Jean Hawkins of Rockford departed this earthly life, June 19, 2022. She was born April 23, 1944 in Stephens, Arkansas the daughter of Tommie and Golden Morehead. Wilma lived in Rockford since 1964 coming from Stephens. She was employed as a Certified Nurses Assistant by River Bluff Nursing Home and in sanitation by Rockford College before retiring. Wilma was a member of Shamar Five Ministries, serving on the Mothers Board. She attended Carver High School in Stephens, Arkansas.

Wilma leaves to cherish many loving memories, two sons, Marvin and Ray Hawkins; two daughters, Cynthia Ewing and Michelle Harris; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; three sisters, Ollie Jones, Dorothy Jenkins and Paula (Othello) Jamerson; brothers, George (Elaine) Morehead, Robert (Shirley) Morehead and Tommie Morehead; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including god daughter, Latoya Glass. She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Callie Murphy, Vergie Pace and Shirley Maxwell; and brothers, Howard Morehead and Fred Charles "FC" Morehead.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022 at Greater New Unity C.O.G.I.C. 615 Oak Street. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
