D aniel Lee Horton also known as "Cooper" by his family; departed this world on January 25, 2021 at 2:48 p.m.. He was born the son of Lorean Horton– Jefferson and Daniel Lee Cooper, November 2, 1957 in Rockford. Daniel worked at Nylint Toy Factor, Anderson Packing and Sears as a delivery driver in Rockford and Green Giant in Belvidere, IL. He was married to the former Geraldine Locke many years.

D aniel leaves to remember and cherish his many memories, daughters, Tosha Webb, MaLynda Bibb, Danielle Horton, Danesha Horton; sons, Corie Barnes, Ahmad (Akkowa) Mubarak, David, Dontavion and Daniel Horton; sisters, Rev. Ella Richardson, Evette Johnson, Gwen Newsome, Velma (Joel) West, Anita Harris, Mary and Marth Cooper and Beverly Mays; brothers, Mark (Shelia), Tony (Kimberly) Horton, Robert (Valerie) Jefferson,  Anthony (Yvetta) Jefferson, Charles (Angelita) Richardson, Daniel Lee Cooper, Gregory, Jerome and  Cornelius Cooper; 25 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; special cousins, Clifford Horton, Richard Simmons, James Denny, Ray Charles and Clementhis Lambert; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Lorean Horton-Jefferson, father, Daniel Lee Cooper, wife, Geraldine Locke-Horton, brother in law Louie Richardson and grandson Chrishawn Arnold.

Family service will be held 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2021 at Deliverance Crusader 2101 Auburn Street. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Public visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m.  until the time of service.
